Stark brings together evidence from Stanford’s Centre for Compassion and Altruism Research and Education and the University of Queensland to build a case to show how consciously practising kindness could improve health, happiness and longevity. Building a social connection within a group can lower fear and anxiety and actually lead people to be of service to others. Dr Doty, a researcher at Stanford, argues that kindness is not a fluffy concept instead it is a powerful force that can make a huge difference in people’s lives.
