This article considers the impact of the fast development of technology. My key learning points are that if we don’t consider the ‘bigger’ picture then we may be at risk of missing an opportunity for much greater impact and benefit. Global technology is developing at a fast rate and it difficult for us to keep up at times especially when undertaking change in organisations. If we want our change project to have a longer lifespan then we need to look deeper and wider, by increasing thought diversity and looking beyond the issues we directly face.
If we had applied this thinking to areas such as the accident and emergency department hour target would we have different solutions to a very difficult problem? What do you think?
