Large numbers of people have headed to the movies to see the new Avengers film, Avengers: Age of Ultron for fun this year. It may be a good idea for health and care workers to be sent to see it for some of the project management lessons that can be learnt as well though.

From the very simple matters of always having a back-up plan and not entering into an office romance, to the more complex issues that keep managers up at night. Such as the fact that they are the person who has to make the hard decisions, questioning their own motives and deciding whether or not to confront a member of staff who is not living up to what is expected.

The film demonstrates both good practice; with the differences in motivation and skills being appreciated for each team member, and bad practice; with selfish motivations and arguably overreliance on automation, giving an insight into what happens if project management is not handled correctly.
