A thought provoking article that considers hospital culture and how messages can get lost in translation within the system. This made me think of the systems thinker Simon Guilfoyle who talks about the ‘Purpose Obfuscation O-Meter’ and how messages change as they are delivered to teams. As leaders and change agents it is our role to ensure clear messages are passed on and nothing lost as the message is passed through the system.
The blog post made me aware of how easily a simple message could be misinterpreted and the potential consequences. Is there a way that we can put checks in the system to prevent this happening?
