Post International Forum on Quality and Safety in Healthcare conference, it seemed appropriate to feature this powerful blog from health researcher Anne Muendi Musava from Kenya. She makes a rallying cry for health system researchers to come out of their academic bubbles and as she puts it, get their hands dirty and reframe themselves as advocates for social justice within a global social movement.

It is too easy to become so enmeshed in the challenges facing health and social care in the UK to forget the global perspective. The solution to these challenges will not come from working in the way we have always done. It will require all of us to come out of our respective silos and build effective partnerships. This applies to all of us – to clinicians, to academics and to those of us on the receiving end – a huge global resource that must be harnessed if we are to address these global challenges.
