Context

The government and NHS England are committed to improving MSK outcomes, including supporting community MSK services. Significant funding for MSK was announced in the Spring 2023 budget and MSK is a focus of the Major Conditions Strategy. We’re now ready to work with a range of partners to identify the issues, opportunities and support requirements to enhance outcomes for those with MSK conditions and tackle economic, social and physical inactivity. Emerging thinking from this engagement will influence many national policy areas including implementation of the Major Conditions Strategy, the Spring Budget 2023 deliverables, WorkWell, and NHS recovery and transformation.

What?

This workshop will focus on the interfaces between hospital and services provided within the community for successful MSK care. What are the conditions for successful collaboration and coordination between different professions and services? How do we work together better?

This is our fourth event as a part of a series of engagements with the MSK community which have so far looked at:

  • 20th Feb – Innovations in MSK
  • 21st Feb – The Future of MSK leadership
  • 13th March – Enhancing integrated care systems capability to deliver MSK outcomes now and in the future

We have engaged with many MSK professionals who think about MSK as a part of their day to day work. But MSK services impact by and on a range of other professionals and services. Whether you are a GP, a care worker, an orthopaedic surgeon, a rheumatologist, an OT, an employment advisor, any healthcare professional with an interest in MSK health, how do we work together in our local system to make sure that people get the right support at the right time for their MSK condition?
