The use of Design Thinking in healthcare redesign has increased over the last few years and I would encourage you all to explore this approach and give it a place in your tool box.

What I like most about Design Thinking is the first step is understanding the issues from the users view point and gain empathy with them.  To me this is a key step as to why we should use this approach in healthcare. Design thinking was first developed within the tech world which is why it has ended up in the open innovations space as you can access many free online toolkits such as this one on human centred design by IDEO. Design Thinking also encourages collaboration and learning from others.

Design Thinking offers me an exciting new world of healthcare innovations were we work together to understand the problems and build solutions.

Human-centered design is a practical, repeatable approach to arriving at innovative solutions. Think of these Methods as a step-by-step guide to unleashing your creativity, putting the people you serve at the center of your design process to come up with new answers to difficult problems
